We last visited Gorge Harbour aboard Fiona Bean ten years ago. The marina has seen some changes in that time. It’s now owned by the Klahoose First Nation, who are doing a fine job with amenities and hospitality.

Today is Canada Day and everyone is in a good mood, exchanging “Happy Canada Day” greetings and anticipating the rock band party later on.

The dockside water was teeming with these “fried egg” jellyfish.
Michelle, Mary Anne and I took a walk through the Commons, a well-maintained set of trails through second growth forest.
This young tree is not growing out of the older stump as sometimes happens. It’s using its roots to “grab on” in an almost animal-like way.
Look! Someone made a fairy house in the woods!
Michelle departs for Vancouver and thence to home.
Suddenly, a fierce wind arose, taking Bob’s head with it.
The old schoolhouse, now a weekend art gallery.
On Cortez, everything is elsewhere.
