The weather was sunny and warm during our stay at Yellow Point Lodge. As we boarded the Zephyr to return to Étude, the wind began to blow. We were bounced around by three foot waves while dealing with mooring lines and luggage. I repeated to Mary Anne like a mantra, “Don’t fall out of the dinghy!”
Once underway, we had an uneventful cruise through the Dodd Narrows and past Nanaimo before stopping for a couple of nights at posh Fairwinds Marina where Mary Anne and Michelle bought a day pass to a spa.
After spa day, happy hour, and a good restaurant, we pressed on to one of our favorite places: Hornby Island.
Hornby has a small commercial district with a counterculture vibe. There’s a nursery, several clothing shops, and lots of food. I refilled one of Étude’s propane tanks at the co-op.
