Yachting 2026.10

The Sunshine Coast Trail runs from Saltery Bay to Sarah Point, a distance of 180 kilometers. We took a spur trail from our anchorage at Duncan’s Secret Spot™️ and walked to the nearest hiker’s hut.

Mary Anne thinks this moss-covered log looks like Charlie Brown’s dog Snoopy.
I found this interesting. Rather than put non-skid across the entire stairway, they put down “footpads”.
Accommodations are spartan. There’s a plywood floor above to spread out sleeping bags. There are also several wooden platforms outside that offer a flat place to pitch a tent.

Magical! Loved “Moss Snoopy!”

The stair treads intrigued me.

Very practical! But . . .

Why the first one right? Were they put on by a right- or left-handed tread placer? Would left-handed treaders find it odd to start their ascent with their non-dominant foot? Hmm. Asking for a friend!
