Salish Snapshots

Salish Snapshots

We left Genoa Bay heading north for a relatively short cruise to our four-day stay on land at Yellow Point Lodge. Too short, actually, because we would arrive before check-in time. So we stopped at Chemanius for a visit to the excellent bakery/coffee shop. To our surprise, there was a band playing in the park and a pretty good car show in progress.

This custom camper is one of the oddest things I’ve seen in a while. Beautifully done.

Satiated with cars, coffee, and baked goods, we resumed our cruise and tied up to a buoy in front of the lodge.

Happy Hour is a major feature of the Yellow Point experience. At least it is for us. Here are a few of our friends being happy.

Intriguing. Very well done.

The car show had many of the typical characters … but the “Chevy camper” renewed my flagging belief that aliens have been infiltrating our world. And the portrait of Michelle was definitely Annie Leibovitz-worthy. Thanks for saving that one for the end.

Beautiful cars! Extraordinary camper—Looked like it was built by Falconi! I agree with you: the TR-3 is the the Drive of Dreams!
The engines are so clean!! I will Pledge to polish mine better . . .
Must be the fresh Canadian air.
Great post!

Darrell

Re the cars: some folks have a ton of money to play with. A custom built camper-trailer? Wow! Must be nice.
