Princess Lights

Princess Lights

What to do on Christmas Day in Scottsdale?

In past years, we’ve gone for a hike or shared a meal with friends. This year we lazed around, quaffed peppermint mochas, then took a driverless car to the Fairmont Princess.

This was our transport. We called it Car. Car welcomed me by name when it pulled up, not wanting to get on its bad side, I replied, “Hello Car.”

We arrived just before sunset and settled into a high top in the bar to watch the synchronized lights and music.

After refreshments, it was time to stroll the grounds. I took some video, but can’t figure out how to put it into a post. Use your imagination as you look at these still photos.

An animated projection on the side of the hotel. Peppermints spun, elves riding canes rose and fell, gingerbread people danced.
Singing snowpeople.
Waiting for Car to take us home for turkey dinner and the season finale of Plur1bus.

Beautiful! Looks like you had a fun time. They sure went all out on the lights. To think of all the time and imagination not to mention the number of lights used… I’m sure the still pictures didn’t even come close to the magical feeling of being there in person.

Guessing the Jack in the Box wasn’t functional, but would have been cool if it was.
