Kaikōura Redux

Kaikōura Redux

The weather in Kaikōura was more like summer today than a week ago. On our last day, we decided to do the full walk around the peninsula – about four miles. You’ve seen some of this before, but I feel you should see it on a fine day instead of a grey one.

The pink house was the home of the mighty whaler Fyffe. Seems an odd color choice for a tough old salt.

We prepare to descend a billion steps (I counted them) to the shoreline.
Remember the 7.8 earthquake? This is just one example of the uplifting that occurred.

  1. Thank you—these pictures were very nice. I liked the pink house! Maybe it was red—and faded? Maybe the red paint chip got . . . Oh never mind. It is a surprising choice, not being party to other personal information!
