Cassoulet

Cassoulet

Do you like cassoulet? I sure do. Whenever it’s on the menu, I cruise right by the Canard Confit and the Boeuf Bourguignon, and go to my happy place.

But let’s be honest, shall we? Cassoulet is leftovers.

“What’s for dinner tonight, mon petit chou?”

”Alors, Jacques, all we have is some leftover chicken, a bit of lamb, perhaps a little fish and shrimp, sausage, of course, and a whole lot of beans. I’ll throw them all into the pot.”

Voila! French cuisine.

Much as a collection of bits and pieces can be made into a feast, I’m hoping that a few photos that I don’t know what else to do with can be made into a blog post. Let’s find out, shall we?

A Will to Live

The Rabbit Died

Do you recall my post about the Easter Bunny Cactus? He (or she) met a terrible fate.

Gross Excess

More people than I want to believe are going to look upon this faux military-grade camper and think, “Just what I need to drive the kids the half-mile to school.”

At the Art Show

An artist’s palette becomes, itself, art.

I continue my obligation to photograph every crow and raven and send to my sister-in-law.

The artist framed a previous palette and sold it

The ol’ Dixie Mine

An easy hike to an unimpressive mine led to an encounter with a quite impressive Gila Monster.

Loved the pictures and comments—reminiscent of my “stream of conscience” story-telling! Sorry about the Bunny Saguero. (Cause of death: Rifleman Fudd?)

Best not to grow attached to prickly things—(note to adjustable metal post!)

Just back from Seattle—passing the Centralia Lakeside Inn and thinking of it’s

familiar landmark-ness!

Loving the crow sculpture—probably not as messy or loud as Portland’s real ones! I miss you!

Hummm…I have a lot of paintings and drawings that are hanging around. Cassoulet would make a good collection title. They all need a permanent home. Thanks for the idea.

I’m very sad about the bunny cactus, but I am absolutely amazed at the other little darling coming out of the post! That sounds good

So sad about the rabbit. Being born in the year of the rabbit I have a certain fondness. Thanks for keeping the engagement going. Great photos.

Now I can’t stop thinking about how much I want some cassoulet right now. Sadly, its not an easy thing to just whip up even if you do have the various bits and bobs on hand.

Darrell

I think your effort at efficient use of resources is commendable, and highly successful. But I want one of those campers!
